Timothy L. Randall, Managing Partner

Biography

Mr. Timothy L. Randall is a business and real estate transactional attorney with over forty years of experience and heads the firm’s real estate and corporate departments. Mr. Randall specializes in the areas of land acquisition and sales, development, land use and entitlement, subdivision, title insurance and real estate leasing and financing. Mr. Randall has had extensive experience with sophisticated real estate related transactions including land acquisition and disposition; merchant builder transactions for both master developers and merchant builders; build for rent; representing land owners in public financing, including the formation of community facilities’ districts and other special districts; the creation of master-planned communities, condominiums and planned unit developments; negotiation and drafting of development agreements; title insurance; issues regarding the subdivision map act and complex multi-party agreements regarding coordination of development responsibilities, cost-sharing and easements and other use rights. Mr. Randall also handles a multitude of general business and corporate matters including entity formations, mergers and acquisitions and contract negotiations.

Mr. Randall represents a multitude of clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies, including many prominent real estate development and home building companies in the Southern California region such as Brookfield Properties, Stratham Communities, California West Communities and Diversified Pacific Development Group.

Mr. Randall graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1974.  He received a Juris Doctor degree from University of San Diego School of Law in 1978.  He served as assistant counsel with First American Title Insurance Company from 1979 until 1985.  He then joined the law firm of Meserve Mumper & Hughes, where he ultimately became a managing partner until the formation of Songstad Randall Coffee & Humphrey LLP in 1996. Mr. Randall has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
